Lifting heavy sheets safely
Steel sheets are very cumbersome to transport in most cases. Not only are they very heavy; they are also rather unwieldy. In addition, strap slings and belts can tear when lifting sheets with sharp edges.
Now SolidHub has the solution: the LHM10 industrial lifting magnet lifts loads of up to 2,205 lbs with ease. Just place the device on the smooth surface of a sheet and flip the lever. The sheet can then be lifted using a crane or other lifting device. This is done by simply hooking a sling or hook into the shackle. The compact lifting magnet (9.06 in x 16.14 in x 10.24 in) weighs just 72.75 lbs, which helps with transport and handling.
The V-shaped recess on the underside of the lifting magnet also allows it to lift pipes, profiles and other shapes. Even then, the LHM10 lifting magnet still has 30% of its maximum lifting capacity.
