Lifting heavy sheets safely
Steel sheets are very cumbersome to transport in most cases. Not only are they very heavy; they are also rather unwieldy. In addition, strap slings and belts can tear when lifting sheets with sharp edges.
Now SolidHub has the solution: the LHM6 industrial lifting magnet lifts loads of up to 1,323 lbs with ease. Just place the device on the smooth surface of a sheet and flip the lever. The sheet can then be lifted using a crane or other lifting device. This is done by simply hooking a sling or hook into the shackle. The compact lifting magnet (8.27 in x 13.78 in x 8.66 in) weighs just 44.09 lbs, which helps with transport and handling.
The V-shaped recess on the underside of the lifting magnet also allows it to lift pipes, profiles and other shapes. Even then, the LHM6 lifting magnet still has 30% of its maximum lifting capacity.
